Terms of Use
ZeroBox — Last updated: 16 October 2026
In short. ZeroBox keeps your photos and videos on your phone, encrypted. We never see them and we can’t reset your PIN. You pay through Google Play and cancel there too. The rest of this page is the fine print.
1. About these terms
These terms are between you and Nexa Tools, the publisher of ZeroBox (“we”). By installing or using ZeroBox you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use ZeroBox. What ZeroBox does with information is in the Privacy Policy.
2. Who can use ZeroBox
You need to be 18 or older, or of legal age where you live if that is higher. ZeroBox is not made for children.
3. What you’re allowed to do with the app
You may install ZeroBox on phones you own or control and use it for yourself, not for a business. The app, its name, icon and design are ours. Don’t copy, resell or rent the app, and don’t take it apart to get at its code unless the law lets you.
4. Your files
- Your photos and videos are yours. They are stored encrypted on your phone. We don’t receive them, host them or look at them.
- You are responsible for what you store and for having the right to store it. Don’t use ZeroBox to keep anything that is illegal where you live.
- We can’t open, check or moderate your files, because we have no access to them. The second vault and the disguised icon are there for your privacy. They don’t protect you from a court, an employer or a lawful seizure of your phone, and they are not a way around the law or anyone’s rules.
- We have no copy of your files. If they are deleted, or lost along with your phone, or removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data, we can’t bring them back.
5. Your PIN and recovery key
Your PIN protects the key that locks your vault. We don’t know it and can’t reset it. If you forget your PIN and haven’t saved the optional recovery key, nobody can get your files back, including us. Keeping the PIN and the recovery key safe is up to you. Keep another copy of anything you can’t afford to lose.
6. Use it lawfully
Don’t use the app to break the law or other people’s rights, to attack or disrupt the app or the services it relies on, or to pass it to others in ways these terms don’t allow.
7. Subscription and free trial
- Price. $19.99 a year or $4.99 a month. Taxes and local prices can differ. The price Google Play shows when you buy is the one that counts.
- Free trial. The first 30 days are free. They start the first time you try to add a file to the vault. When they end, Google Play charges the plan you chose, unless you cancelled before that date.
- Renewal. The subscription renews by itself for the same period at the current price until you cancel.
- Cancelling. Cancel in Google Play, under Payments & subscriptions. Cancelling stops future charges. You keep access to the paid features until the end of the period you already paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription.
- Payment and refunds. Google Play takes the payment and handles refund requests under its own rules. We never see your payment details and can’t refund or cancel for you. This doesn’t take away any right you have under the law of your country that can’t be waived. For example, in some countries you may have a right to withdraw from a digital purchase within a set time.
- What needs a subscription. Adding new files, moving the vault to another phone, and new features released later.
- Price changes. If we change a price or a plan, it applies from your next renewal, and Google Play tells you before that. You can cancel before then.
8. After you cancel
You can still view and export the photos and videos already in your vault, for as long as ZeroBox is installed on your phone and works with your version of Android. This does not cover adding new files, moving to a new phone, or features released later. It also doesn’t hold if we stop offering the app, or if a change by Google or Android stops the app from running.
9. Updates
We may change, update or stop parts of the app. We can’t promise it will always run without interruptions or errors. Some updates may be needed to keep the app working on newer versions of Android.
10. No warranty
As far as the law allows, the app is provided “as is”, with no warranties. No security is perfect, and you use the app at your own risk. This does not affect rights you have as a consumer that the law doesn’t let us remove.
11. Our liability
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, or for files you lose because you forgot your PIN, lost or broke your phone, or uninstalled the app. For any other claim about the app, we are liable for no more than what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. None of this limits liability for a fault in the app itself that damaged your vault, or any liability the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
12. Stopping
You can stop using ZeroBox whenever you like by uninstalling it. That doesn’t cancel the subscription (see section 7). We may end your licence if you seriously break these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version and its date are always on this page. We have no way to email you, so we won’t. A change that makes paid terms worse for you applies only from your next renewal, so you can cancel first. Other changes apply from the date shown. If you keep using the app after that, you accept them.
14. If something goes wrong
Write to us first and we will try to sort it out. Nothing here removes the rights that consumer protection law gives you where you live.
