Photos of your passport and documents sit in your gallery. What now?
You photographed your passport for a form three years ago. It is still in the gallery, between a sunset and a screenshot of a recipe.
What you can do, with or without ZeroBox
- Search your gallery for the documents you once photographed. Delete the ones you no longer need, and empty the gallery’s trash too.
- Check whether your gallery backs up to a cloud. If it does, a copy lives there as well.
- When someone asks for a copy of a document, send it only to the person who needs it.
How ZeroBox helps
- Move the ones you keep into ZeroBox with +. Originals in your gallery are deleted after encryption (Android asks you to confirm). Files that came from other apps stay where they are.
- ZeroBox shows PDFs inside the app. For file types it cannot preview, you export the file to open it elsewhere.
- Albums keep the documents apart from the holiday photos, and the vault itself is encrypted with AES-256 and needs its own PIN.
What ZeroBox does not cover
- A document you export or send is a normal file again, out of ZeroBox’s hands.
- Copies in email, chats and cloud storage are not touched.
- ZeroBox stores a file. It cannot tell you whether a request for a copy of your passport is legitimate.
- If you lose the PIN and have neither a recovery key nor a transfer file, the documents are lost too.
